This movie is way too good to only have one user review. It's a classy little movie, nothing extraordinary. Good music, beautiful scenery, well filmed.
Bente Børsum is very good as Vivienne. A Norwegian-born former writer, now at the end of her life, she spends her time alone in a secluded big mansion in the French countryside. She cooks, smokes and read books. She has no interest in answering the phone. And she has decided where she wants her ashes spread when she is no more.
A young Norwegian couple suddenly comes on her path, and into her home. Vivienne tries to be a good host, but she has no interest in letting the couple know her Norwegian background. Can they be trusted? Do they want something from her? And when will they be on their way again? Their presence wakes up memories in Vivienne, and there are some things that need closure before she can let go.
Don't skip this one, it's definitely worth a watch. It's slow moving, it's got some mystery. In the end it's quite sad, but I don't regret the watch.
