A film about totalitarian regime. Well crafted. Nuanced acted. And with a powerful message about freedom, duty, desires, sacrifice, fear. A father, North Korean general . His daughter, student in Swizerland. The dream of her. The mission of him. And the end who is just new episode of old known script. The cinematography is the lead virtue of film. Like the symbols - from inner cottage to the skulls of deers. You know the story and the final is predictable. But this knowledge is the key for understand each character reactions and the isolation in theirs answers. A powerful film. About totalitarian regime. And about the answer who defines a cruel reality who has as hostage entire society , ignoring or dominating the family connections.
