Motives & Murders: Cracking the Case
(2012– )
Twelve-year-old Polly Klaas and two friends are having a sleepover and playing board games, when a man brandishing a knife appears at the door, ties them up, nabs Polly, and then disappears into the night.

This is not the first documentary about the now notorious Polly Klaas case, but although it covers the same ground as the 1998 "Polly Klaas: Kidnapped", it also presents some complementary information. The earlier film did not mention the fact that her father was a serious suspect in her disappearance, but like the two people who made hoax phone calls, this was another red herring.
This film contains dramatisations, but it also speaks to Marc Klaas, who unsurprisingly nearly two decades on was still grieving for the daughter who was the apple of his eye.
What can be said of sexual predator and now child murderer Richard Allen Davis except that in view of his appalling antecedents he should never have been at large?
