DEA supervisor Bill Peterson's team is under FBI investigation, as a mole is suspected to have messed up several operations against the Mexican Sousa drug cartel, recently costing one agent's life in Steven Korbell's Houston restaurant. Cornered, Peterson threatens to ruin Abbot's career and his wife's with the upcoming senatorial hearing unless his failure is represented as crucial cooperation. Patrick and Wylie work out the drug scum's communication method, Jane devises a tiered trap for the potential DEA traitors.

Abbott is brought in because "they wanted someone outside DEA to conduct the report". If they wanted an objective outsider, why did they send someone who was working for the DEA and a close colleague of Peterson just 10 years ago? Hardly an independent investigator in this case. See more
