Trivia

As Jessica considers the implications of Killgrave's expanded powers, she mentions that he could tell all the people of New York to go to the roof and jump off. In David Tennant's first episode as the Doctor in Doctor Who, the Sycorax use blood control over the human race to make all people with a certain blood type go to the edge of the rooftops. The Doctor reveals, however, that the Sycorax can't force them to jump because survival is the most basic human instinct. Tennant's character as Killgrave in the MCU, however, is able to regularly command people to kill themselves. See more »

strangely fantastic PLUS a cool ending

From a stunning debut, I thought some of the middle episodes of the season meandered a bit. This was not one of them.

Ever since the Taming of the Shrew, the notion of love and hate being different sides of the very same coin has been a favorite of writers.

In my view, prior to this episode, the iconic Mr and Mrs Smith (with Jolie and Pitt, both in their prime) was the definitive trope on couples who love to hate.

This episode surpasses that. You have drama, good dialog, a merry chase, turnabout, reverse, and a climax that literally takes the house down.

Ritter gets better and better in this role. I was not familiar with her work before but she seems the definitive Jessica Jones and deserves a nomination for selling a difficult part.

Great TV. Perfect in fact.
