"Why not,, it worked for Gary Cooper?" (dialog, Olyphant)
16 February 2015 | by A_Different_DrummerSee all my reviews

THEY'RE BAAACK! Previous reviews by this writer were a tad harsh, blaming the JUSTIFIED team for losing focus last season with all kinds of goings-on that not only were not fun, but were in fact annoying to watch.

The good news is that the team is back.

A joy to see Sam Elliot in full fettle.

And we are starting to see some of the nuances we expect from the younger Yost, a man who was raised with a keen appreciation of the art of film-making.

By that remark, I am referring not only to the return to the small screen of Elliot and Mary Steenburgen -- both of whom forgot more about acting than many young stars of today actually know -- but also little digs like the line in the header, where the dialog for Olyphant acknowledges how similar he is in looks and style of the immortal Gary Cooper.

Also fun to see Joelle Carter getting the screen time she deserves especially since last season had her hidden away under lock and key.

Literally.
