Trivia

Dean Stockwell previously co-starred with 'Scott Bakula' on Quantum Leap (1989) and he also played the Secretary of the Navy on JAG (1995), which is the series from which the original NCIS (2003) originated. See more »

Goofs

The revolver is said to be a Smith & Wesson, likely a Model 10. The Navy never issued those in the 1970s, they issued Colt M1911 45 caliber semi-auto pistols. Only the Air Force used Model 10 revolvers in the 1970's. See more »

The casket in tonight's episode.
27 November 2014 | by chaufeurSee all my reviews

This episode revolved around an old killing that had happened decades before. They dug up the casket of a Jewish sailor that had been buried for 40 years. Jewish burials are done with wood caskets and no burial vaults, so the remains are returned to the earth as quickly as possible.

After 4 decades, the casket would have degraded, and there would be nothing but bones in the grave when opened.

"For dust you are and to dust you shall return."

This is a glaring mistake that should have been caught before the episode aired. I know the writers took some literary license, but...
