Berni is a married 40-year old mother who thought she was living the American Dream as a successful bank executive. She leaves the 20-year career when she encounters a hostile and harassing work environment resulting in multiple miscarriages. Disillusioned by the emptiness of what she thought was the right path; Berni is drawn to pursue a childhood dream of filmmaking. Without the security of a steady paycheck, no corporate benefits and increasing debt, Berni's husband is unhappy about the financial implications but reluctantly concedes. Synchronously, she is invited to join a group of North American speakers for a spirituality conference in India.
