Trivia

During the scene with Newt and Theseus in one of the hallways of the British Ministry of Magic, we see several owls flying overhead. These would be interdepartmental memos being sent. Many years later, in the fifth instalment in the Harry Potter franchise (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) we see Harry and Arthur Weasley travelling in an elevator, where they see more interdepartmental memos being sent, now in the form of paper airplanes. Mr. Weasley then tells Harry, "Just interdepartmental memos. We used to use owls, but the mess was unbelievable... droppings all over the desks...". This tells us that this took place before they changed from owls to paper planes. See more »

Goofs

Grindelwald, young and present, is shown to have a pronounced eye pigmentation defect that wasn't there in his portrayals at different parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. While it could be argued that this stems from an incident that took place somewhere in between these films, rather than a genetic phenomenon since birth, that still doesn't explain why it's not there in his older age. There remains the possibility that this matter may explained away in Fantastic Beasts 3, 4, or 5. See more »

Spielman: [to Picquery; about Grindelwald] ... you'll be glad to get rid of him, I expect.
Seraphina Picquery: We'd be more than happy to keep him here in custody.
Spielman: Six months are enough. It's time for him to answer for his crimes in Europe.
Abernathy: [meets them at Grindelwald's door] President Picquery, Mr. Spielman, sir. Prisoner is secured and ready to travel.
Spielman: [peers into the cell with Picquery] You've thrown everything at him, I see.
Seraphina Picquery: It was necessary. He's extremely powerful. We've had to change his guard three times - ...

The magic has gone
21 December 2018 | by iliasalkSee all my reviews

A totally dysfunctional and unrelated cast, an incomprehensible story and tons and tons of computer graphics. The result is a confusing and totally boring movie. A waste of money.
