- Emily seeks answers from David's attacker; David confesses his secrets to Victoria.
- We open the episode with Emily having her session of torturing the guy who attacked David rudely interrupted by an attractive man looking for a date. (If I had a nickel.) Emily tells the slightly buzzed Hunter to buzz off
Agent Taylor and Jack are getting along swimmingly. He walks her back to her hotel room and they nearly kiss. It's interrupted by her getting word of David's attack.
Emily continues her torture and gets the guy to tell her he was hired by somebody with "major connections that seems to have the cops in his pocket." His partner was Pete Dunn.
Taylor and Jack arrive at the station to interrogate Dunn. They find he's hanged himself.
Louise slips up to Nolan and intimates that her father didn't actually drink himself to death. Nolan passes this tidbit along to Margot.
Having realized he's actually Emily's closest friend, David fires off a mea culpa to Nolan. They both realize Emily's been "weirdly quiet."
Victoria and Daniel have a little chat. She wants to be back in his life, he warn her that Emily won't rest until she's split her and David up.
Nolan goes behind Emily's back and sets her prisoner free. She's not happy.
Victoria asks David point-blank whether Emily was there when he was attacked. He lies and tells her to leave it alone.
Taylor tells Jack she thinks Emily might be involved. He says he doesn't think she's involved.
Emily and Hunter have a beer together. He references Chief Alvarez and she raises an eyebrow.
Victoria and Alvarez sit in the park and have a little chat. She wants more insight into the attack on David and he tells her they've discovered the name of Conrad's killer, Vince Walsh. With a somewhat ominous tone he advises her to stay away from David for a few days.
A drunk and weepy Louise confronts Nolan with the information that Margot's media company is now sniffing around about her father. She tells him the story could destroy her.
Victoria confronts David about Vince Walsh and asks whether he planted the knife. They debate how dishonest the other has been and David drops a "where the hell were you?" in reference to him being in custody. He promises her he'll never leave without Emily.
After destroying Hunter in every known bar game Emily asks him about his relationship with Alvarez. He makes a move to touch her face and she reflexively (and violently) grabs his wrist.
The flirtation between Jack and Taylor continues. But the Medical Examiner's report means she's headed back to DC.
Via flashback we learn that just prior to their running off together David and Victoria stole $5 million cash from Conrad and stuck it in a vault. In a move dedicated to trust, he would hide the vault and she would know the combination. In present day we see that David knows both the location and the combination. He opens it and sticks a flashdrive on top of all the cash.
On his way out of town David gives Nolan the safe information, saying he's leaving town and if he doesn't return Nolan is to make public the information inside. Nolan wants more information and David gives it to him: The person after him is Malcolm Black, an arms dealer who forced him to do laundering money in exchange for not killing Amanda. David's plan is to pay Black a visit. Using a drinkable tracker Nolan has located the man Emily had locked up. He's in Newark.
Daniel and Emily sit at the bar and catch up. She rips him for never fighting for anything in his life.
David finds the man Emily had locked up and gives him a message for Black.
Victoria is given info that Walsh was hired by Black, and that Black has somebody local calling the shots. The order had been to bring David in unharmed since he owes Black money. She sends Black word that Emily is the answer.
Nolan tells Margot the deal is off. She is furious and immediately passes down word to run the story on Louise's family. Daniel walks into the room and says he loves her. They go back and forth until she reveals that she's pregnant.
David opens up to Victoria about Black.
Emily tracks down Hunter and fesses up to using him to track down info on Alvarez. She admits to looking into David's attack and says she thinks somebody killed Pete Dunn. Hunter is convinced Alvarez isn't dirty since he was with him when Pete died. He says the only person who had access was the FBI.
We see Taylor at her hotel room getting the message from Victoria. She is Black's mole. Jack walks in and the two start kissing as the episode comes to an end.
