'Animator vs. Animation IV' follows the struggle between a stick figure and its creator, a computer animator. In this fourth installment, the animator is finally shown in real life interacting with his computer monitor. The stick figure, resisting his tormentor, attacks his social life by hacking his Facebook account, traveling onto his iPhone via USB cord, and drawing animations of his own to dismantle the animation interface. Although this animation is by far the longest and highest quality sequel thus far, it stays true to the spirit and appeal of the original 'Animator vs. Animation', which went viral in 2006.Written by
The Animator is surprised that the Animation can talk, yet in the original Animator vs Animation, he "shouted" some censored swear words towards the beginning (symbols appeared above his head). See more »
As close to perfection as stick figure animation can get
This is a prime example of what just one person can achieve given the right tools, funding, time and obviously a ton of talent and creativity. Analyzing just a part of this short will make you realize how painstakingly tedious it must have been to animate, which makes the flawless execution all the more gratifying. The amount of emotion and story Alan is able to convey in his faceless stick figures is also astounding.
I'd say this is as close to perfection as stick figure animation can get, as I can't point out anything to improve. 10/10
