The Arab Spring forces Tunisian Nazir, married to the pregnant Dutch hairdresser Kimmy, to escape to Europe, but he ends up in Lampedusa, imprisoned as an illegal refugee. RAFAËL is a romantic drama about two lovers giving everything they have, just to be reunited for the birth of their son Rafaël. It is a suspenseful story about borders, dreams, perseverance and love-transcending bureaucracy, borders and even prison walls.Written by
Using a dramatic real event from a family life, this film is a pure manifesto for the rights of people. Not bad crafted, interesting and touching, giving a sort of poetry of image in fair manner, its end is the obvious proof of the interest. And, sure, the accusations against UE policy, about the attittude about imimgrants, about politic and its impossibility to solve problems of ordinary people. It is a love story but the love seems only the support. So, just a manifesto.
