Monroe claims the wolfsangel was not just used to entrap wolfs but also blutbadens. Those blutbadens would have to be exceptionally dumb though because the wolfsangel worked much like a fish hook. It was embedded in some bait meat or entrails and dangled from trees on a chain, forcing wolves to jump up and snap at the meat if they wanted to get it. If they got a bite, the angel would hook into their jaw and they would die in prolonged agony or slain by the trappers. Intelligent beings would not fall for that kind of trap.
