Storyline

Bacchus is dismissive when prostitute Tina Hall reports a fortnight old rape but when another girl is sexually assaulted and killed Gently is appalled to learn that inspector Walter Nunn had deliberately been dissuading rape victims from pressing charges. Matters are complicated because Bacchus is having an affair with Nunn's wife, bringing personalities into the case. The dead girl is identified and meek bus station attendant Stuart MacMillan owns to murdering her but Gently is not convinced. He is certain that Nunn frequents brothels himself and has his own reasons for the lack of police action whilst constable Rachel pursues her own line of enquiry with a likely suspect. Quotes

[WPC Coles has tracked down a suspect that Gently and Bacchus have been trying to trace]
John Bacchus: So what you are going to do after you've nicked me job then, Rachel? Are you going to surgically remove me balls, are you?
Rachel Coles: No you can keep those for decorative purposes. You might run out of fluffy dice for your car window.
John Bacchus: Well I don't have any fluffy dice.
Rachel Coles: And you don't have any balls, either.

unexpected, but happy to see series 7
3 August 2015 | by zmanzoranSee all my reviews

I totally loved this show, and I was sure that series 6 was the last. Today I found there would be 4 more episodes...first episode, I notice something different, the camera work the color, then it becomes clear that everything is different about the production. Same name of show, same place, same characters, but I have no clue what the rest is. It smells like garbage...nothing like the show I loved. Series 7 episode 1 is garbage. I can only hope the next 3 episodes return to the old. I see this too often, some cool unknown show gets discovered and then popular, suddenly it has to be a big time production. The story gets lost in the art...the writing the camera work the direction.
