Goofs

The wild scavenger animals here were supposedly "short tailed weasels" aka ermine, which are small, nocturnal, elusive animals that live in wild brushy areas. They do not hang out in town garbage dumps to scavenge cadavers in broad daylight. Even worse, the animals shown are clearly tame domestic ferrets, which are at least twice the size of a short tailed weasel and don't look anything like them. And once again Hodges once more bare-handedly catches a wild animal that would run away long before he got near it, or bite viciously if cornered. See more »

Season 10 Episode 3 - NOT WEASELS
10 October 2014 | by See all my reviews

I rate this awful because they had the NERVE to call DOMESTICATED FERRETS "stoats'. They are NOT stoats, and furthermore they are not "opportunistic hunter/scavengers'. I have had ferrets since I was 8 years old and I'm 66 now. Do not call these animals 'stoats'. Ermines are stoats. Ferrets are polecats, descended from European polecats, and brought over to North America on ships where they were kept because they would hunt in packs and kill / eat rats, although they prefer rabbit. They do not eat human beings no matter how much the media would like to push that 'horrifying visual imagery'. It would be rats who would have eaten the cadaver in this episode of Bones. Domesticated ferrets (really there is no such thing, they are wild animals but when NEUTERED they do make fairly decent pets providing you are prepared to do the work necessary to keep them happy, healthy and friendly to people. Most people do not know how to treat ferrets. I'd spend more time on this subject, but instead you can go view my ferret comics here (on one of my websites): www.geekygirrls.com/life.html then click on the link for "ferret adventures for kids". Now I have to go write a blog post about Criminal Minds which is the worst piece of crap I've seen on netflix. (I 'watch' (really 'listen') to a series when I'm writing late at night.) Criminal Minds always treats women as though we were STUPID and WEAK ... well, I will write that rant on one of my blogs now.
