Ted V Mikels is an elderly B-movie mogul who did his best work in the late 1960s but here he is in the 2010s and still putting out entertaining work. Now "Paranormal Extremes" is totally cheap and absurd and not that much happens, compared to the latest superhero cash-in. But there's more heart and individuality - maybe even art - in this movie than in the multiplex.
You can easily warm up to the characters, laugh at their dialogue and enjoy the primitive special effects, without ever having your intellect insulted or being sold some bullshit deep morals from a giant corporation. No, this movie is not scary or sexy or hip. But it doesn't need to be. Its fun and innocent and a great departure from the Hollywood formula.
