" iPhone, Touch Phones, Luxurious Houses and Teenage Rebels Include the Television Adaptation of " Scream "
22 February 2016 | by Pipe Carrillo BuitragoSee all my reviews

The 90s were a big decade for world film, especially for horror, forcing every instant classics, one of them was the great reinvention of the Slasher, Wes Craven's "Scream". This classic influenced for "Halloween" and "Friday 13th" finished its career during 2011, with its fourth movie that destroyed all the constructed so far. It is now that they decide to revive the classic with a television series seemingly aimed at young people, under the channel MTV and Wes as executive producer.

The current version, adopted explicitly every detail and characters of the original, a group of high school students (the characters almost identical to the film's horror) that without thinking, they are subjected to a series of murder in Lakewood, a local legend that revives, everyone can be suspect but anyone can be the next.

"Scream" opens its pilot episode, praising the classical scene starring by Drew Barrymore, from the first moment, we know that Nina (Bella Thorne) and Tyler (Max Lloyd-Jones) are involved with cyberbullying towards Audrey's sexual video, this time the prelude to her death is more modern and sophisticated but permeating the atmosphere and dye of the original.

As it is mentioned above, it is possible that series is directed to teenagers, but in my opinion any lover of the franchise and the genre will have an exciting and interesting experience.

After seeing the first episode, presented to us to the cast of potential assassins, the innocent protagonist Emma (Willa Fitzgerald), her boyfriend and fellow Will (Connor Weil), her group of friends popular, Brooke (Carlson Young), her suitor, Jake (Tom Maden) and Riley (Brianne tju) in addition to the main character and first suspect of the massacre to come Audrey (Taylor-Bex Klaus), part funny and curious Noah (John Karna) and another possible suspect Kieran (Amadeus Serafini), they complete the bait for the legend of the village.

In the series premiere , they projected us the concern and speculation of group of friends for the embarrassing video, ordering a super party at the home of Brooke, a clear call to death, while Emma does everything is at your fingertips for a conversation with Audrey , which is very complicated.

It is refreshing and fast its central development, showing a possible likelihood of the origin of the killer, since its inception. It tells the legend of the village, 20 years ago, a strange boy was rejected and avoided by his friends, falling in love head over heels of Emmas's mom (surprisingly!), Daidy.

The appearance of the murderer is more soft and smooth as the original, but collects the same tricks of his predecessor, Emma anonymous phone calls, and the delivery of a heart of human for Daisy. The change in appearance of the famous mask is a double-edged weapon, not generating much terror to see it but respect and honor to the man or woman under the mask.

Nice phrases and parliaments of Noah where thoughts and opinions of what we think viewers say: "You root for them. You love them. So when they're brutally murdered, it hurts." The pilot episode plays its role perfectly, introducing to us in an urban myth, the presentation of the guys, and possible roots and beginnings of the problem.

The first chapter of TV adaptation "Scream" doesn't offer much, showing the same touches of horror than those of the film, aside from the reinvention of the genre, also gives us an acceptable teen drama, intelligent and compelling performances, some original characters and a murderer who provides the necessary mystery for TV.

MTV not aimed to create and renew the famous saga of terror, it was to create a series almost identical, having clear who would like more its series (adolescents), leaving much to be desired for the fans of the franchise, but running a tasty and entertaining experience for the public young, that the only thing you want is blood.

Scream continues next Tuesday with 'Hello, Emma'
