- A working class New Yorker grapples with guilt as he seduces a young dancer from the south in order to get at a man testifying against his cousin in an upcoming trial.
- Barry, a working-class New Yorker, meets Kim, a dancer from Baton Rouge, on a subway. Barry charms a tearful Kim by telling her a series of jokes. Getting her phone number and setting plans to meet for coffee, this appears to be a relationship in the making. However, Barry has ulterior motives: he is using Kim in order to gain access to her apartment where he can kill a man living in her building who is testifying against his cousin in a vehicular manslaughter trial. The relationship with Kim will serve as an alibi for why he was in the building at the time of the murder. Barry begins to have sincere feelings for Kim, and his apprehension grows over the pressure his family-particularly his uncle, the family patriarch-exerts on him to carry out the heinous crime. Will Barry do the right thing and try to make his relationship work, or will his family ties prove to be too strong to overcome?
