Storyline

Plot Summary

Africa struggles with various human rights issues; and often times, some people put laws into their own hands. "Weeping Ashes" is based on true events about how people that are supposedly "non-straight" are beaten, stoned to death, and sometimes, burnt alive. While the thought of same gender relationship remains a shock to many Africans, this movie raises the awareness that nobody has the right to take the life of another person whose beliefs or choices differ. "Weeping Ashes" condemns 'jungle justice' mentality and cautions the quickness to passing judgment on others. Written by Chijindu Kelechi EKe
