The first bit of confusion is, when was this movie released? Amazon has it as 2017, but this entry in IMDB is 2015? I did some homework but there is conflicting information. Even BoxOfficeMojo which is a sister entity to IMDB doesn't even have an entry?
The other issue is that this is labeled as a "drama, documentary". So you have to take this with a grain of salt. The claim is that this is a critically acclaimed, epic production, but I looked for the critical reviews and they don't exist. This production is so low on the totem pole that it didn't even cause a blip on the radar.
I give kudos to the director David Batty for casting non-white, Anglo Saxon men in this production. It's sort of like trying to watch those bible productions in the 50's when Hollowood casted all the famous stars of the time to play parts meant for Middle Eastern descendants. Not that it would be wrong for others to play the part, but if you are trying to make a realistic production why not go all the way?
Kudos for the costumes and the sets. The cinematography is also well done. The production did a good job of creating a proper setting for the story.
I do not care for the production as a whole. There is a lot of creative license used in the production. There is no biblical history to support these assumptions. And to top it off, the production uses fictional characters to fill in the blanks, and there are a lot of blanks to fill.
