Be Patient, Avengers Fans: You'll Be Watching Infinity War on Netflix Sooner Than You Think

  • Popsugar
Remember that time when Marvel released Avengers: Infinity War and ruined all of our lives with a single snap? So do we! As if any of us could forget the brutal ending that made us witness the most heartbreaking goodbyes or the hilarious memes that were born from our pain. Infinity War put us on a roller coaster of emotions, which isn't exactly helped by the fact that we still have a ways to go before the next Avengers movie comes out. Luckily, Netflix always comes through for us.

While we don't have an exact date for when the Marvel movie will hit the streaming service, we do have a fair idea of when it'll come out. The films tend to show up on Netflix a little after their digital and physical release dates, which for Infinity War are July 31 and Aug. 14, respectively. Factoring in the usual time frame in

‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Star Michelle Yeoh Got Her Start in Action Movies

‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Star Michelle Yeoh Got Her Start in Action Movies
Michelle Yeoh plays the overbearing matriarch in Warner Bros.’ “Crazy Rich Asians,” which bows Aug. 15, and is also a regular on “Star Trek: Discovery,” launching its second season in January. But she may be best known as the sword master in Ang Lee’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”

Born in Malaysia, she studied dance and won the Miss Malaysia beauty pageant, which led to film work in Hong Kong. In those days, Wing Chun action movies were dominated by male stars like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Sammo Hung. Yeoh became one of the first female Hong Kong action stars, with films such as “Yes, Madam!” “Police Story 3: Supercop” and “Holy Weapon.” Roles in “Crouching Tiger,” “Tomorrow Never Dies” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” have helped her become one of the most successful female action heroes of all time.

New Avengers: Infinity War Blooper Reel Features A Mary Poppins Musical Number

While 1964’s Mary Poppins is decidedly short on action scenes, you get the impression that the superpowered title character could totally hold her own in battle if the occasion ever called for it. Between her telekinetic cleaning, her flight-enabling umbrella, and her ability to open up portals to cartoon dimensions, this magical nanny could surely give Doctor Strange and the rest of the Avengers: Infinity War cast a run for their money, and if Disney ever decides to open the McU up to its non-Marvel properties, the practically perfect Poppins would surely be a worthy addition.

It’s not like the star of the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns doesn’t already have a presence of sorts in the ongoing superhero franchise, either. For one thing, you may recall the scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where Yonder famously yells “I’m Marry Poppins, ya’ll!” as he descends from the sky.

It was recently reported that Disney is unlikely to re-hire Gunn to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Bautista is not happy. Over the weekend he posted a tweet saying that it's "pretty nauseating" to work for Disney after what they had done to Gunn. Here's his full statement:

I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for. Gotg w/o @JamesGunn just isn’t Gotg. Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis . That’s just how I feel https://t.co/Ym4FwruVDu

Bautista wrote on Twitter Sunday that he’ll still act in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” because he’s “legally obligated,” but that the franchise without James Gunn is “not what I signed up for.”

“[Guardians of the Galaxy] without James Gunn just isn’t [Guardians of the Galaxy],” he wrote.

“It’s also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis,” Bautista continued, referring to right-wing commentator Mike Cernovich, who unearthed Gunn’s 10-year-old tweets. Many viewed Disney’s firing of Gunn as capitulation to Cernovich and his followers.

Kurt Russell’s The Latest Guardians Of The Galaxy Star To Defend James Gunn

It’s been over two weeks now since James Gunn’s shock firing from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise due to the resurfacing of some obscene tweets he shared several years ago, and stars of the Marvel series keep coming forward in his defense. Today, the latest to show their support is Ego the Living Planet himself, Kurt Russell.

The legendary actor spoke to Variety at Netflix’s Wild, Wild Country Emmy celebration on Saturday night and admitted that he was “sad” as to the turn of Gunn’s fortunes and touched on a bugbear he has about online culture.

“It’s sad. But it’s a part of our fabric now, and I get it, But I do think we’re getting a little too sensitive on maybe some of the wrong people.”

Elaborating on his feelings, Russell went on to mount more of a defense for Gunn,

Kurt Russell Stands Up for Fired Guardians 3 Director James Gunn

Kurt Russell Stands Up for Fired Guardians 3 Director James Gunn
Kurt Russell is going to bat for fired filmmaker James Gunn, who directed him in last year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Russell doesn't directly address Disney or ask for the studio to give Gunn his old job back. Russell won't be returning in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for obvious reasons if you've seen the movie, which tears his character apart. But Russell does feel everyone is getting a little too overly sensitive.

Russell is no stranger to Disney. During his younger career, he was contracted by the studio and appeared in a number of classic family favorites like The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, The Strongest Man in the World and Now You see Him, Now You Don't, which could aptly be the title of James Gunn's current situation. The director has literally disappeared from social media after being fired by Disney from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

Kurt Russell Defends James Gunn: ‘I Think We’re Getting a Little Too Sensitive’
After the entire main cast of “Guardians of the Galaxy” signed a letter in support of James Gunn, who was fired from the franchise by Disney after offensive tweets from years past resurfaced, Kurt Russell has added his voice to the chorus. Russell, who had a supporting role in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” said Saturday that he thinks “we’re getting a little too sensitive” and that he hopes Gunn is forgiven.

“It’s sad. But it’s a part of our fabric now and I get it,” Russell told Variety. “But I do think we’re getting a little too sensitive on maybe some of the wrong people.”

Will ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ overcome its haters by winning Teen Choice?

Will ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ overcome its haters by winning Teen Choice?
Star Wars: The Last Jedi” was one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2017, but you wouldn’t necessarily know that from the backlash from some vocal fans, some of it reminiscent of the anti-progressive movement against the all-female “Ghostbusters.” Co-star Kelly Marie Tran, who is of Vietnamese descent, was even driven off social media after months of harassment. But the blockbuster could get its revenge by winning Choice Fantasy Movie at the fan-voted Teen Choice Awards.

“The Last Jedi” is the front-runner to win, according to Gold Derby’s users who give it leading odds of 2/3. It has nine nominations overall, including three bids for Choice Fantasy Movie Actor, two for Choice Fantasy Movie Actress (Carrie Fisher and Daisy Ridley) and Choice Breakout Movie Star for Tran, whom fans may especially want to support after the abuse she received online.

Everyone Turned to Ashes When Thanos Snapped His Fingers, Through ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

  • The Wrap
Everyone Turned to Ashes When Thanos Snapped His Fingers, Through ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’
(Note: This post contains massive spoilers for both “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” so read on at your own risk!)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe was gutted by the events of “Avengers: Infinity War” and the arrival of Thanos, a villain so strong even the combined might of nearly every McU superhero couldn’t stop him.

You know what happened by now: Despite a valiant effort to stop Thanos (Josh Brolin), the Avengers and their allies failed. The Mad Titan collected all six Infinity Stones on his Infinity Gauntlet, and with a snap his fingers used their united power to erase half of all life in the universe. All because Thanos believes mass murder on a cosmic scale will rid the universe of its problems and free the survivors to create sustainable utopias.

Avengers: Infinity War Director Reveals How Thanos Killed Drax’s Family

Drax stole our hearts the very first time we saw him in Guardians of the Galaxy. His ‘take everything completely literally’ schtick, combined with Dave Bautista’s beautiful comic timing, made for many of the film’s biggest laughs – something which continued in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Despite all the great one-liners (“Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too fast. I would catch it”) though, there’s always been a core of sadness to Drax given that his beloved family was slaughtered by Thanos and all he craves is revenge. Now, in the audio commentary track for Avengers: Infinity War, we’ve finally found out what happened to them.

The explanation comes when the filmmaking team are discussing the flashback to the Mad Titan invading Gamora’s planet and his subsequent adoption of her. One of the most shocking portions of this scene comes when Thanos

‘Avengers: Infinity War': Here’s Why Thanos Waited to Go After the Infinity Stones Himself

‘Avengers: Infinity War': Here’s Why Thanos Waited to Go After the Infinity Stones Himself
(Note: This post contains spoilers for “Avengers: Infinity War.”)

It took 10 years and 19 movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Thanos to make his play to wreck the universe in “Avengers: Infinity War,” and one big lingering question is, why’d he wait so long?

After all, Thanos (Josh Brolin) is ludicrously powerful. In “Infinity War,” we see him barely break a sweat kicking the Hulk’s ass, fight off the combined might of dozens of heroes more than once, and oh yeah, hold infinity stones in his hands without being vaporized. He’s so powerful that he manages to get his hands on all six Infinity Stones pretty much in a day or so.

But if he could stomp his way through everything Earth’s mightiest heroes could throw at him, why is he just now doing it? Why, prior to “Infinity War,” in “The Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,
