Leviathan: Monster Melting Pot (2014)

*** (out of 4)

Here's another very good documentary from Scream Factory! as Tom Woodruff, Jr., Shannon Shea and Alec Gillis discuss the making of the 1989 film LEVIATHAN. Stan Winston was the main person on that film and this here plays out as a terrific tribute to him as well as a very good look at the making of the film. The three men worked on the special effects and they talk about what work had to be done on a lack of money and on a lack of time. Some of the best stories deal with Winston always being willing to take less money and less time to pull off these types of films and his crew talk about the pressure that it put on them. Some other great stories talk about how Winston wasn't afraid to give films to his "students" as he didn't worry about someone passing him up for a job.
