We get Leonard and Sheldon together in this episode, and being nice towards each other too, which makes a nice change. With the upgrading of Raj and Howard's roles, not to mention the addition of Amy and Bernadette, you almost forget that this whole show was built on their friendship, so a buddy road-trip plot serves the well.
The other plot is fine, fairly sitcom standard, and with more than a whiff of a 'Friends' rip-off quality about it.
The other story involved Leonard & Sheldon going to Skywalker Ranch, and that's where a small error occurred. It has been noted that Sheldon has an idetic memory, which he demonstrated in the episode about the bachelor party trip when he launched into Queen's song "We Will Rock You" after hearing Raj and Howard sing it. Yet in this episode he doesn't know the song that goes: "I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it..." even though Raj had it playing at the comic book store in the episode that involved Stan Lee. He should have remembered it from hearing it before.

- TriviaWhen Sheldon runs away from the guard shack the guard announces a code "AA-23". Princess Leia was held in detention block AA-23 of the Death Star.
- GoofsWhen Leonard and Sheldon pull up to the ranch, Sheldon says to drive up to the box and push the button. From the inside of the car, the window is rolled up, but from the outside, the window is already down. When they pull up to the box, the window is rolled up again, then in the next shot, the window is down.
The window is up in all shots until Leonard starts to pull up to the box and it can clearly be seen going down.
- Quotes
Leonard Hofstadter: [they've just found the gate to Skywalker Ranch] You want to get a picture?
Sheldon Cooper: I want more than a picture. I want to go in.
Leonard Hofstadter: So do I, but they'll never let us.
Sheldon Cooper: Is that the attitude that helped you get Penny?
Leonard Hofstadter: No, but I don't have three years to make that gate feel sorry for me.

I tried meditating on the beach today. After a few minutes of gazing out at the ocean these words floated up into my consciousness, "An impersonal, life-creating vastness that is ever-changing." The metaphor touched me deeply. It seemed as if time stopped, or at least was on hold. A feeling of peace came upon me, or more accurately, from within me. Then a new thought wafted, "I am alive in an impersonal universe and I can't help but take it personally." Then another thought, "Life is sustained by eating other life. What's up with that?" Then one more, "Ever-changing is just a pompous way of saying $#!% happens." Realizing I'd strayed from my meditation, I took a deep cleansing breath and once again looked out at the ocean. That simple joy and serenity I'd felt earlier returned immediately, followed by a new thought, or rather, sensation, "I urgently have to urinate." I looked around and saw no facilities. Not even a tree to hide behind. Desperate for relief, I looked back to the ocean and heard these words calmly whispered in my mind, "Impersonal also means I will never judge you."
The water was cold, but I managed.
