Dr. Thornhill leads a class visit to the museum on Halloween night, but the 'cool' spooky exhibits are all closed. Kirby can't resist sneaking in, only to lose himself in an absurd Sherlock Holmes-style search for an imagined thief of his bag of candy. Max and Sydney follow, where Sydney decides they should play a scare game, wherein Max and Steel discover the coolest exhibit (a glowing meteor) to be a fragment of the destroyed Tachyon homeworld. Their handling it suffices to be detected by Prism Link. Mega Elementor sends two UltraLinks to get it. Disguised as reapers, they scare and ultimately kidnap Sydney and Kirby, fighting with Max/Steel for possession of the rock, which has granted Max and Steel Spike Mode.
