When a pastor is shaken by the visible faith of a street corner preacher, he is reminded that true belief always requires action. His response ignites a journey that impacts everyone it touches in ways that only God could orchestrate.

Filled with heart, humor, and wit, WAR ROOM follows Tony and Elizabeth Jordan, a couple who seemingly have it all-great jobs, a beautiful daughter, their dream home. But appearances can be deceiving. In reality, their marriage has become a war zone and their daughter is collateral damage. With guidance from Miss Clara, an older, wiser woman, Elizabeth discovers she can start fighting for her family instead of against them. As the power of prayer and Elizabeth's newly energized faith transform her life, will Tony join the fight and become the man he knows he needs to be? Together, their real enemy doesn't have a prayer.Written by
Like previous films by the Kendrick Brothers, it was originally planned to use a mostly white cast. But Alex began having dreams about a mostly African American cast, and soon believed that this was how God wanted them to do it. So they switched the main characters to be like in Alex's dreams. At first Sony was concerned about having a film with a mostly African American cast being produced by a white-led production company, worrying that it may not be respected by African Americans. But the Kendrick Brothers assured Sony that the main characters would be presented as a successful family that just had marital issues that they were working through, and not anything that would dishonor the race of any party involved. Interestingly the film was released only months after the Charleston Church Shooting. Those involved with the film believe that the timing was no coincidence. Affirm films said that if it had been told with a different race, it would've been a different movie. See more »
The mask Tony uses when washing his wife's feet is a dust mask and would be useless to protect him from the odor of her feet. But once her feet are in the bucket of water there would be no odor issue anyway. See more »
I don't know where you are, Devil, but I know you can hear me. You have played with my mind and had your way long enough! No more! You are done! Jesus is the Lord of this house, and that means there's no place for you here anymore! So take your lies, your schemes, and your accusations and get out in Jesus' name! You can't have my marriage, you can't have my daughter and you sure can't have my man! This house is under new management and that means you are out! And another thing, I am so sick of ...

A Movie of Empowerment
This movie came out at the right moment. When the trailer first came out you could see and feel the presence of the Lord on it. This movie has been a blessing. I was so happy to see this the #1 movie out after it opened. And at the time I'm writing this movie theaters are being added! This movie is about prayer as it says in the trailer and it makes sure you know it is. There are many precious moments. Some will make you cry, laugh, and then think. It will make you re-evaluate your life. Every couple, dating or married; child and friend, Black, White, Asian, Hispanic and any other race should see this movie. It is helpful on so many levels. Those who are not Christian might not like this, but some might. So check it out while you can. There truly is power in prayer.
