Goofs

When Terry Donovan appears to be in an emigration office to apply to go to Ireland an inspirational style framed picture is on the wall behind Terry (over his right shoulder). This picture Features a picturesque narrow passage of over hanging trees and bushes with the phrase "BEAUTIFUL IRELAND" below it. The place shown in the image is however a popular tourist attraction known as 'The Dark Hedges' in a place called Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, an entirely different country. See more »

the writers put on (yet another) clinic
19 March 2016 | by A_Different_DrummerSee all my reviews

Well it is season 2 and the writers can now enjoy the luxury of doing something they could not do in S01 which is go deep into arcs that highlight the quirky characters they have created. Because by now the audience "gets" these people and they are like family.

The episode is also unusual is how it jumps around between the character arcs, resembling more a soap opera than an episode of prime time TV. My view is that the writers are showing off a bit, and they are entitled.

Voight remains the knockout. My feeling is that he is not properly acknowledged for his work. He has done character parts in dozens of films and TV shows but his work here, accent and all, is off the wall. Hard to remember there was an episode a while back were Ray tried to kill him.

Glad the attempt failed!
