The Walking Dead Ep Compares Rick Grimes Movie To Logan

Though many have pointed to a decline in the quality and broad popularity of The Walking Dead, there’s no denying that the property is still one of the most successful in the industry. Sister series Fear the Walking Dead just concluded its fifth season, and there’s a second, untitled, spinoff in the works that’ll purportedly follow children of the generation that’ve been raised in the zombie apocalypse.

The franchise has also spread to every manner of pop culture, from action figure to clothes and everything in-between. The creators are even gearing up for a trio of films that may or may not be a trilogy. Little is known about what the movies will be about, except that the first will star Andrew Lincoln reprising the role of Rick Grimes for the first time since leaving the mainline show and that it’ll be getting a full theatrical release.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6: What to Expect

David S.E. Zapanta Oct 13, 2019

Here we gather six helpful suggestions for how Fear the Walking Dead season 6 can sidestep the pitfalls of season 5.

This Fear the Walking Dead article contains spoilers.

Sometimes it’s really tough being a fan of Fear the Walking Dead. While I often root for this show’s success, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg have endeavored to leave logic in the dust in pursuit of more hopeful storytelling. While I’m all for more uplifting stories in these trying times, even the best of intentions can be undermined by an overreliance on tropes and plot contrivances. So it’s in the spirit of wishful thinking—and high hopes for things to come—here are six ways Fear the Walking Dead season 6 can improve upon season 5.

1. No more San Antonio Splits

Fear’s issues are bigger than John Dorie’s ability to kill two walkers with a single bullet.

‘The Walking Dead’ Spinoff Is a Unique Coming-of-Age Quest Story, Per Creator

It would be easy to overlook The Walking Dead's second spinoff series coming to AMC in 2020. With the original Walking Dead series now a staple of the AMC lineup and its first spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, met with middling success, it's easy to argue there might be no reason to watch yet another entry into this growing franchise. What more is there left to explore in the zombie apocalypse? Series creator (and Walking Dead franchise overseer) Scott M. Gimple explained in a recent interview with Deadline there are some very good reasons to tune into the …

‘The Walking Dead’ In-Depth: The New Spinoff And The Fate of Rick Grimes — Scott Gimple Q&a
Exclusive: Scott M. Gimple is the man leading the search for new life in the world of The Walking Dead. Gimple is the Chief Content Officer of AMC’s ever-expanding Twd universe and oversees three television franchises: The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and the as-yet-untitled spinoff (co-created by Gimple and Twd writer/producer Matt Negrete) that is filming now in Virginia and ramping toward its primetime premiere in 2020.

These are hectic and somewhat tumultuous days for Gimple and the Twd entertainment empire — the only thing moving slowly, in fact, are those pesky undead walkers on their unending search for a free lunch. The zombie apocalypse saga is poised to make a leap to the big screen with the first Twd feature film but the brand sure looked flat-footed this week when the flagship show’s Season 10 premiere fell double-digits among viewers to an all-time series low. The brand

The Walking Dead Season 10 Returns to Series Low in Ratings

Joseph Baxter Oct 8, 2019

AMC’s The Walking Dead had a Season 10 return that yielded the lowest-rated premiere in the show’s history.

The Walking Dead returned to AMC this past Sunday night, marking its monumental tenth season. However, while the show’s season number entered the realm of double digits, it appears that its oft-discussed ratings decline has manifested in double digits as well. Unfortunately for The Walking Dead, its season premiere has provided the smallest same day viewership yet.

The Walking Dead Season 10 premiere episode, “Lines We Cross,” earned 4 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49, representing a 34% decline in total viewers from last year's Season 9 premiere, which, itself, marked a series low. Additionally, there was a 35 percent decline in AMC's core demographic of adults 25-54 (2.9 rating to 1.9) and 42 percent in the aforementioned adults 18-49. However, as dire as those numbers appear, there is a mitigating narrative regarding
