Summary
Reviewers say 'Fear the Walking Dead' receives mixed reception for its unique approach to the zombie apocalypse, focusing on its onset. Character development and emotional depth are praised, especially in later seasons. However, criticisms include slow pacing, inconsistent writing, and weak antagonists. Some find it overly melodramatic and less thrilling than 'The Walking Dead'. The introduction of characters like Morgan is positively noted for revitalizing the show. Despite mixed opinions, many recommend watching from Season 4 for improved storytelling and character arcs.

I've been a fan of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead since the beginning. Even though the original Walking Dead is the better of the two, Fear still holds its own and is definitely worth watching. There are people who complain and hope that it gets canceled. I'll never understand why people root for a show to get cancelled...just stop watching it. Why root for it to go if a lot of people still like it, all you have to do is change the channel. There are a few down seasons like 4 and 5 but it picks back up again in a big way with season 6. It's coming to an end after this upcoming season and even though I still enjoy the show, it's time for it to come to an end. If you're a fan of this genre then this is a must watch.
I have been captivated by this series especially after the character development was completed. I preferred original TWD, but after Morgan's crossover this series really took off. I hung in there to the end, including the final season when IMDB ratings dropped, like a ton.
To me, that final season was somewhat disappointing, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Those characters deserved a good ending, with all the drama the main WD series provided in spades. They got that.
One complaint I did have was the continual previews (spoilers that is) during every commercial. Why would you do that? Other shows do it too much as well, but the WD shows led the way. I realllly dont like spoilers.
But I did like this show. Don't let the walkers & some blood stop you. It's really not too gory. The character development is well worth the journey.

It's a real shame that most people rate shows on a "0 or 10" scale. Most of the complaining I hear about this show stem from people wanting it to be more like TWD. If you'd like to see something that is not TWD, but exists in the same universe--I think that's called a "spin-off"--then this show is that. Different places, different faces. Some of the characters make dumb choices, some are boring, and some are annoying. Viewers really seem to hate "realism" despite always screaming for it.
It's not perfect. I could gripe about the things I don't like, but they are minor when compared to the fact that I'm really enjoying watching how things progressed while Rick was in a coma. It offers nothing in the way of explaining the zombies (that's a good thing), but is showing really well how panic and mobs of humans actually paved the way for zombies to swoop right in and eat everyone.
If you want to enjoy this show, turn off your silly expectations about it being like TWD, and just watch while convincingly-real and flawed humans deal with a fast-moving crisis that no one seems to understand. It's easy for viewers to forget that these new characters don't have years of experience in the zombie world, so it just looks like some weird virus that makes people crazy and hard to kill. 7/10

I have to agree with many reviewers here in that watching a group of incredibly stupid survivors of a zombie holocaust is torture. It's one bad storyline after another and the actors know it. There's very little for them to work with and subsequently the acting is subpar. Fire every writer and every director and start over; you can't do any worse.
Nick's character & Strand's are the ONLY two that I liked, everyone else was annoying. HOW you going tell someone what you going to do at their place or on their boat......or NOT listen when the world is going to hell. I spent a lot of time rolling my eyes at the rest of the cast but I LOVE Morgan & zombies too.
