A tense online dating thriller that starts innocent then spirals into danger. Sharp pacing, eerie twists, and a believable villain keep the tension tight. Smart, fast, and unsettling, it turns a simple match into a nightmare you can't look away from. Had some wild shots and scenes in it. DOnt watch with your parents.
First things first, TUBI originals are definitely getting better, this has great production values, acting (especially from Dianne Simpson as Lucille) and practical effects. I also think there is genuine humour running alongside all the demented stuff.
Now we get to the minus points. Yet again, we have characters who make the dumbest decisions imaginable from about two minutes in until the films conclusion, especially from the protagonist, and I really cannot excuse that, even with the humour. Bad writing demands that characters don't act like they would do in real life and rely on plot contrivances to see it through.
Lastly, I fail to understand all the people saying they were dry heaving and being sick whilst watching this. I think society has become tremendously weak if Match makes you heave! On the other hand, perhaps I've watched too many sick films in my time and am immune to it, but nothing here is that bad, even if Henry is packing a 'weapon of mass destruction'!
In conclusion, Match is definitely worth watching on streaming and it is a good advertisement for TUBI who really are the best out there for Horror content but, it goes without saying, that this is not a good advertisement for Dating Apps, especially for women, lest they meet a 'Henry', or more likely an overbearing, vicious Mum!

I haven't seen a Barbarian rip off movie before, but if not the first, this has to be one of the best. Laced with themes of feminine and masculine vulnerability punctuated by insane gore and practical effects that sonehow are not as utterly bizarre as the sroty itself. The film somehow is shot like a lifetime movie whilst also conveying genuine pathos and dread. At one point it was giving me elephant man vibes in the most deranged way. Definitely worth a look.
I didn't have any advance warning of what to expect from this film - just that it was a horror story. It certainly lived up to that classification, and a lot more too. What starts as a conventional dating app meet turns into a living nightmare as it kept getting more and more gross, piling on the tension as the horror built up, ultimately reaching new levels of horrified engagement as it soars to new heights of preposterousness. Then at times it turns into a comedy - a very, very dark comedy. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who likes the challenge of a cross-genre film.
This movie wouldn't be half bad if it wasn't for one of the main protagonists inability to have any urgency to do anything useful at any point. She feels like a damsel in distress pretty much the whole film even when she has the upper hand. Makes this otherwise decent movie a hard watch. At the very least you can catch it on Tubi so at least I didn't pay for it.
