Three deserted kids seek refuge in a riverside Martello tower from the authorities, inspired by the youngest Jack, who everyone else believes lives in a fantasy. They make the tower their home and set out for provisions through the marshes, but swans attack them. They are drawn into the Underworld kingdom of the Fairies and become prisoners of Balor of the Evil Eye the Winter Lord. They escape and are saved by Hadi an amazing Tuareg warrior who takes them to the venerable Oracle (the stone of destiny). He sets Jack, Ellie his twin, and Jamie his older brother and on an epic quest. They must find seven pearls and free the Princess the daughter of Balor who represents the land. This is a retelling of the first fairy tale, the story of Lugh's ascendance. It is based on two books derived from mainly Druid oral poetry and other writings from the Iron Age recorded by Irish Monks. Mallory's Mort D'Arthur from the medieval period is a perfunctory attempt at the larger story. It is part of a film Trilogy set in the contemporary world.
