In February 2017, former Breitbart editor and right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos arrived on the Uc Berkeley campus and attempted to deliver a speech that was met by more than 1,500 protestors. For Cole Becker, the lead singer of Oakland punk group Swmrs who was among the protestors, it was a pivotal moment for both himself and the band.
“I don’t want to give him more face time by talking about it,” Becker admits while riding the L train to an album release show at Brooklyn record store and venue Rough Trade.

After 20 years, you'd think a show would recycle old, unfresh plots.
But Law & Order: Svu Season 20 is still going strong halfway through its run.
There's a lot we'd like to see more often, and a few things we hope the second half of the season doesn't focus on at all.

1. Benson Struggling to Stay In Shape - Worked Law & Order: Svu Season 20 began with Benson getting winded while chasing a suspect and realizing she was no longer Wonder Woman and that age and stress had taken their toll, especially after her problems led to a bystander getting injured. This is a compelling storyline, but other than one workout scene it hasn't been mentioned since.

Samantha Bee’s just-announced holiday special looks at very first glance like it could give Martha Stewart a run for her stocking stuffers, but by the time I.C.E. agents raid a nativity scene, tradition has headed up the chimney.
TBS has released a trailer and set a Dec. 19 premiere date for Full Frontal‘s holiday special Christmas on I.C.E.!”, and promises that it will be “less-godless-than-the-usual-liberal variety spectacular.”
Bee promises during the trailer that she’ll spend the special actually on ice, with Olympic medalist Adam Rippon among the guests joining Bee at New York’s PlayStation Theater.
On a winter wonderland set inspired by Melania Trump’s 2017 Christmas video, Bee explains that the special and merchandise from Opening Ceremony fashions will raise funds for Kind’s Family Separation Response Team, a non-profit organization working to reunite families separated under Donald Trump’s “Zero Tolerance” policy.

As more and more writers rooms from across the Big 4, cable and streaming take on the challenge from Vida and One Day at a Time to stop children being ripped apart from their families at the southern border, the home of the Tanya Saracho-run East La drama has put its money where its heart is.
The day after Donald Trump begrudgingly signed an executive order that sort of stops any more kids and babies being snatched away from their parents and placed in cages or hidden homes across the country, Starz backed up Saracho, Vida and the efforts of an immigrant Lone Star State non-profit:

In an effort to bring attention to the Trump administration’s family separation policy that has been making headlines and causing much debate as of late, filmmaker Ava DuVernay tweeted a photo of herself as a child with commentary on the current events unfolding at the U.S.-Mexico border — and others started to follow her lead.
“I look at myself as a girl and imagine having to travel unsafely in a quest for safety,” the Wrinkle in Time director tweeted. “Be forcibly separated from my mother. Caged with people I don’t know and who don’t know me. Alone in a world I don’t understand. Imagine this for the child you were. We cannot allow this.”
