Trivia

The film is shot on location in the real Eloise Insane Asylum, which used to be one of the largest mental institutions in the world. It began as one building in Westland, Michigan in 1832, before rapidly growing into a 78-building complex, complete with its own fire and police departments, train station, post office and farms. The asylum finally closed in 1982, and has since been used as many things such as a daycare center, a homeless shelter, and a business office. Many of the outlying buildings such as the bakery, firehouse, tavern, and powerhouse are in ruins beyond repair. See more »

Goofs

When Jacob enters his fathers house after his funeral he finds the knife his father took his own life with. Both the knife and the carpet in the room where the death happened are covered in fresh blood. Since the funeral took place at least one, possibly more days after his fathers death there neither wouldn't be fresh blood stains nor the knife itself. It'd be a crime scene and therefore totally occupied by the police. See more »

What a DUD!!
3 February 2017 | by tony-55965See all my reviews

What a DUD!! This movie is un-watchable. The plot is impossible to follow and makes no sense at all. The dismal execution between the high school quality plot-direction and a flat out failure at "scary" are the proverbial "nails in the coffin" for this movie. Actually, calling it a movie, does an injustice to the word "movie". The characters act as if they were just thrown into the mix. Poor direction is an understatement. Which brings up the question of how this movie ever got made? Makes you wonder if there was any adult oversight - its truly that bad! The other questions that beg asking is how did the actors ever accept these roles? What were they thinking (or were they)? And, were they that desperate - or was greed the motivating factor? In my opinion, for the actors and director, this is career ending material, or at best, definitely career changing (for the worse). This one will more than likely be lining the discount bin of your local dollar store in the not to distant future. Final question - how do I get my money back?
