Storyline

One hundred forty miles. Roughly the distance a single competitor must swim (2.4 miles), bike (112 miles) and run (26.2 miles) just to finish an Ironman Triathlon, one of the most punishing tests of human endurance in all of sports. But for triathlete, Trent Wierick, the grueling demands of Ironman competition were nothing compared to the long road back from a near fatal training accident when his bike slammed head-on into an oncoming truck. In 140 Miles, filmmaker Danny Brown tracks one athlete's remarkable recovery and return to the highest levels of competition, with an unexpected miracle along the way. Written by John Wierick
