Storyline

Adam, the male bear, escapes and although George and Billy manage to retrieve him before he reaches the village, George is injured in June's sight and confined to bed. He knows he must finish the bears' enclosure but the bank will not supply any more funds. Fortunately he meets Lady Katherine's friend Lady Goodwin, an eccentric aristocrat who supports him and who stages a glamorous benefit evening at Selbourne Hall, hosted by Lady Katherine and to which Camilla Radler's postman son Archie escorts Muriel. The evening goes well until one of the guests accuses Katherine of being an adulteress. Furthermore Mrs Radler and the duplicitous Webb are gathering signatures to close the zoo, leading to planning permission being denied and a confrontation between Webb and George. Our Zoo Episode 4 - My favourite episode so far
27 September 2014 | by pellypunchSee all my reviews

My favourite episode so far, with loads going on to keep me thoroughly entertained. Underhanded actions from the Reverend Webb and the village store owner Camilla Radler, continue to threaten the future of the zoo. Adam the bear escaping, makes George realize that they desperately need more money, if his dream of a zoo without bars is to become a reality, but from where? A chance encounter with an eccentric rich widower Lady Daphne Goodwin(wonderfully portrayed by Celia Imrie), who takes a shine to June's squirrel monkey, Mortimer, sees George get an idea for raising funds. George persuades Lady Katherine Longmore to allow him to set up a benefit in Selbourne Hall to try to obtain sponsors from the local gentry for the zoo's animals. An eventful benefit ensues, that's not without its surprises. Kept me captivated and craving more....
