Opry 100: A Live Celebration

Rarely ever watch a production like this however I watched all three hours. Pure musical entertainment without any agenda other than honoring talented song writers and singers plus the Grand Old Opry-100 years of legends in the industry. The respect shown to those who came before many of today's country artist was evident.

Admittedly I shed tears at a few times Wednesday night. Watching the heartfelt respect and admiration for their peers was a highlight of the evening. Overall, the social media posts have been consistently positive about NBC programming other than some stations cut the final performance; would have enjoyed seeing the final song!

I rarely love these types of shows. Hearing songs sung by people who didn't make them famous doesn't thrill me. I almost turned the channel, but I'm so glad I didn't! This show was done so well. I found myself actually crying, smiling, laughing, clapping to the beat, really feeling the emotions of those performing coming through.

It had a great mix of counrty eras, and enough songs being sung by the singers that made them hits. Even the songs that were done by others were done incredibly well!

A great tribute to 100 years of the Grand Ole Opry. Some music was even performed at the original location of the Opry - the Ryman Auditorium!

If you like country music, this is a must watch tribute show.
