Trivia

The repeated phrase "Agents of Nothing" in dialogue is a reference to the "Secret Warriors Vol. 1: Nick Fury, Agent of Nothing" collected edition that contains the story arc written by Jonathan Hickman, originally published in six parts in 2009. In this story arc also, HYDRA is revealed to have infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. after World War 2. See more »

Rewatch thoughts

I didn't really realize this before, but this episode is brilliant, I didn't originally give it this high rating, took it up now after I finished re-watching it, because it is better than I remember. So this episode not much happens, contrast that with the previous episode and it's easy to feel underwhelmed first time watching it, but when you stop to think about it, this was a better written, deeper episode about loss and presistance through devastating times, watching Phil Coulson (acted to perfection by Clark Gregg) as he spirels more and more into despair,it's heartbreaking, emotional and gives the whole MCU a new dimension, now everytime I sit down to watch Captian america: the winter soldier, my experience is transformed by the memory of phil coulson standing in the snow begging for his life to have a meaning, it adds layes to the story...and isn't that what good tv is all about?
