Slightly Disappointing.
18 June 2014 | by TejasNairSee all my reviews

I don't know why it was tad disappointing as the season finale. Maybe I was expecting more or had preconceived ideas of how it would end. Trust me, none of use would've guessed what happens in 2014's greatest show yet.

It starts off where last episode left. Lester tries to cover up what he did, although his accusations are fueled by Molly's ever-increasing doubts. Lorne Malvo is ever fine as he continues his prowl; his genius is again evinced throughout the one-hour tale. The episode felt like it was made so that the whole series could end. But I really liked the ideas of "commit a crime once and the world is made of glass."

Climax is slightly off to what we expect but still, it gives closure to the whole 10 week anticipation. The performances are great, no doubt but the plot also slightly deviates from reality. What was credible in the first nine episodes suddenly becomes incredible. Unlike Breaking Bad, the writers of Fargo fail to maintain the panache of quirky telling in their last episode.

BOTTOM LINE: This is not the best episode of Fargo neither it is the best finale of a series. But if you are a fan, try to see the glass half full. Like I did and rated it 7/10. And about accolades, I think it might get few nods.
