In a modern America where witches are real and witchcraft is illegal, a sheltered teenager must face her own demons and prejudices as she helps two young witches avoid law enforcement and cross the southern border to asylum in Mexico.
A Catholic priest questions his faith after a botched exorcism. Strange occurrences deriving from a satanic cult have lead Father James Costello back to his old nemesis, Sheriff Tormada. Tormada, a self-loathing homosexual, sociopath and murderer, uses the law to his advantage to make Costello's life a living hell. Tormada is at war with the idea that Costello made peace with being gay. An unknown association hires a brother/sister team of Bosnian witch hunters/inquisitors to exterminate the 'problems' the town has been experiencing.Written by
I just saw the film Witch Hunt and I was very impressed. The story was very interesting focusing on the questions of homosexuality and faith. It was very artistically filmed and had a lot of atmosphere unlike a lot of other films that you find in the independent field that focus on horror. While it had some great horror shots they are not over done or schlocky. It focused on story not the spectacle which I enjoyed. Tony Ramos Wright was wonderful as the evil Sheriff Tromada and brought a lot of relish to his role. Rick Chandler and Carver Riot really had a lot of chemistry which transferred on screen and made their dynamic as the Witch Hunters a lot of fun to watch.
