So much wrong with one movie

29FEB2020 {1/10 stars F} Recommend? No; Misleading movie that mixes Catholicism with Christian phrases and terms. This is known as Ecumenism, a very dangerous spiritual trend that is practiced by well known Christian churches, pastors and speakers.

Thin plot with very little character development and lame romantic subplot. This is an unusual movie with a strong Christian and/or religious theme, but also includes profanity, fornication and more foul stuff that many Christians don't want to watch. Maybe the profanity, fornication and other stuff is supposed to make the movie feel more real?

At times the movie seems like it may be mocking people that are Christian or religious. Annoying use of old songs being sung that have a Christian or religious theme. No mention that God often doesn't answer prayer if you don't have an active relationship with Him. Answered prayers come from God, not by the will or power of the person saying the prayer. Who God is, is not connected to how badly people treat you.

Three times in this movie Cora is elevated to being Christ-like. Cora lays her hands on the lady she hit with her car, prays for her and the lady quickly regains consciousness and is uninjured, Cora does the same for a senior citizen man who collapses and is unconscious, and Chase says Cora saved his life when he called Dial A Prayer and she prayed for him. No mention about Christ, or a faith in Christ, being what saved these three, it's all about Cora saving them.

CONTENT ADVISORY: Sh't and bullsh't said repeatedly and in various ways, f-word, assh'le, God's name said in vain, Jesus said as expletive several times, fornication strongly implied between Cora and Chase no nudity, group of people commit vandalism and arson against a Catholic parish. Stalkerish behavior by Chase toward Cora. Cora smoking marijuana joint while driving and is surprised when a police car passes her with lights and sirens on.

Distracted driving by Cora looking for a cigarette lighter with a cigarette in her mouth and leads to a woman pedestrian being hit by Cora's car. The woman's body hits the windshield and next scene she is laying visibly uninjured on the pavement in front of the car unconscious.

Cora standing in front of bathroom mirror after a shower with towel wrapped around her chest and torso no cleavage or nudity shown, cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, drunk woman staggering around at party, cocaine use, brief party scene with alcohol and drug use along with Cora and a man passionately kissing on a bed, Cora changes her mind and leaves party.
