- With Reid in a coma both Drake and Jackson are grieving the loss of their friend, who they are sure will not recover from his wounds. Chief Inspector Fred Abberline shakes them up a bit and gets them back at work. Their immediate interest is the death of a publican whose establishment was ransacked in the process. The subsequent riot destroyed much of the property on the same street. They soon trace the action to two brothers, Teddy and Walter Shipman, brewery workers who have taken an interest in promoting their brewery's products. Meanwhile, journalist Fred Best continues to press Long Susan for information about the missing bonds.—garykmcd
