Trama

After Julia's intimate encounter with Ed, she and the Braverman clan attempt to put aside their own family issues to come together for a baptism.

Joel cant answer positively when their marriage counselor asks him if theirs is a trial separation with the hopes of reconciliation. Natalie tells Drew she doesnt understand his living arrangement with Amy.

Sarah asks Hank to work together. Crosby tells Camille his frustration with their plans to sell the house.



NOW



Renee pushes Crosby and Jasmine to have Aidas baptism brunch reception at Zeek and Camilles house. They make up reasons why they cant, including that it would be an imposition on Camille, that the timing is bad, and that the godparents are separated. Renee warns against having a godparent whos about to leave the family. Renee will host it at her place even though it is small.



Sarah, Hank and Max look over their logo of SurfSport. Sarah likes it but Hank and Max want to tweak it.



Drew, tired of reading, looks at pictures of Natalie on his cell phone and decides to go see her. He knocks on her door and Barto, shirt-less, answers. Natalie is behind him, undercovers in bed.

Max comes to the shop on his day off to print some yearbook pictures and insinuates himself onto the computer that Sarah and Hank are working on. Unable to convince Max that he is interrupting their work, Sarah offers to drive Max home. Sarah takes him home; Christina follows Max upstairs to see what is wrong; Sarah leaves.



Jasmine helps Camille with the dishes. Jasmine tells Camille that they appreciate being able to stay there. Camille wonders sarcastically why Crosby is not acting that way. Jasmine replies that Crosby is sad to lose the house he grew up in. Jasmine tells Camille about the baptism and the reception at Renees. Camille says she would have loved to have hosted the reception.



Barto comes back. Drew tells him hes upset that he hooked up with Natalie. Barto apologizes saying he thought Drew was done with Natalie especially since Amy had stayed there for three weeks. Barto is indifferent because he doesnt have to hit that, and Drew is his bro.



Crosby visits Joel and tells him about the baptism. Joel understands. Crosby says he hopes Joel and Julia get back together.



Jabbar, Victor and Sydney are helping Zeek with his car. Crosby and Julia watch from the patio and he tells her about his visit to Joel. She is surprised Joel isnt going to be Aidas godfather anymore and then is surprised that Joel didnt put up a fight. Then she is upset that Joel didnt ask about her.



Adam comes home as Christina is making dinner. She tells him about Max and accuses Sarah of handling the situation poorly. She insists they talk to Sarah.



Camille apologizes to Crosby for being so insistent about selling the house and she understands that he, they, have strong sentimental ties to it. She offers to do the baptism reception but Crosby says Renee is set on doing it herself. Camille offers to do a family dinner the night before.



Natalie visits Drew and Barto. Barto tells her that its over between them because Drew is his bro. Natalie rolls her eyes. She asks Drew to step out so they can talk. She reminds him that HE dropped off the face of the earth for a month with Amy. Drew grunts.



Julia calls Joel and asks him why he didnt fight to remain Aidas godfather, or for that matter to fight for their marriage and her, specifically. Joel says hes willing to fight, but not for this particular issue.



Hank is getting off the phone with Christina. Sarah thinks their accusation that she handled Max poorly is ridiculous. She says the shop is where they work and that everyone should stop treating fourteen year-old Max like a baby. She gets a text and then goes off on how this family has just added a pre-baptism dinner.



Crosby visits Adam and asks him to be Aidas godfather clearly Adam doesnt know he is second choice and is thrilled.



Drew is at Ambers complaining about Barto and Natalie. At the same time, Amber complains about Ryan. She breaks out a bottle of vodka and a baggie of pot.



Sydney wonders why Joel is not going to the pre-baptism dinner. She wonders when Joel and Julias break is going to be over. Julie doesnt know.



Amber and Drew, now high, avoid answering Sarahs calls. When Amber finally answers, she realizes theyve forgotten the dinner.



Camille, watching Zeek, tells Sarah that shes worried Zeek will start an argument with the minister who is a guest at the dinner. Adam, Christina and Max come by the kitchen; Max sees Sarah and scurries off. Adam offers Sarah a drink and she refuses because she has to work later. Adam says he has to talk to her about the other day and she sets off on a rant about how crazy it was and how Max obviously has never heard the word no before. Julia interrupts their conversation, surprised at how many people are there. Adam is surprised to learn he was the second choice for godfather and then takes umbrage at Sarahs accusation that he doesnt know how to set limits with Max.



Drew and Amber arrive by cab, laughing as they try to get their story straight. As Renee starts grace, thanking God for the food, Zeek whispers to the minister that God wasnt in the kitchen when Camille was cooking. Renee toasts Zeek and Camille saying she will miss coming to the family celebrations at their house. Sarah is surprised, but Julia explains. Crosby admits that he knew. Adam admits that he knew, but that he DIDNT know he was runner-up for godfather. He blames it on the perception that he is a bad father. Christina points out that Sarahs kids are stoned. Crosby blurts out that they didnt ask Sarah to be a godmother because she isnt married and that at the time, Joel and Julia were. Julia frowns. Crosby then goes off about how all this family tension was caused by a baptism that didnt even need to happen. Renee interjects. Finally, Julia leaves, saying its all because she couldnt keep her marriage together. Zeek excuses himself.



Zeek visits Joel. As if expecting him, Joel lets him in. Zeek asks what the hell he is doing. Joel says hes trying to figure things out. Zeek asks him to try harder. He says he doesnt know their circumstances, but reminds him that when he walked Julia down the aisle, he gave her to Joel because he was proud and sure of Joel. And that he took him on as a son. He asks Joel to be at the baptism.



As Sarah is leaving the shop for the church, Hank asks her what she is going to say. She says she doesnt owe her fourteen year-old nephew an apology but that she will probably apologize anyway. Hank reminds Sarah what she said about taking pride in her work, and that maybe Adam and Christina see that in Maxs pursuit of photography.



Amber and Drew get ready for the baptism but Drews shirt is dirty. She finds one of Ryans.



Sarah meets Adam and Christina at the church. She tells them shes rented the printer for another week, so Max can come by next week to do his work. Crosby asks if what Renee said about Jabbars baptism being one of the most beautiful moments in Jasmines life and she says yes, because anything that brings the family together is a great moment. As the ceremony goes on, Joel comes in. Everyone is happy.

An offer is made on the house. Sydney accuses Victor of breaking up their parents. Sarah tells Hank she only wants them to be friends.
