Trivia

When the show premiered on the TV2 network in New Zealand, it was given the 2.30PM time-slot on Sunday afternoons and was given the PGR rating (Parental Guidance Recommended). "Selfie" is not a family show and is a comedy for adults and was given the TV-14 rating. The show has a lot of sexual references and Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) wears a lot of sexy outfits and is seen in her bra and underwear. In 1 show, an Instagram picture of Eliza topless, which her breasts are covered is seen. Another episode, Eliza is seen making out with a shirtless man on top of a bed, which her shirt is removed and we see her in a bra, but the scene ends and in another episode, Eliza is standing naked in front of Henry, but only her bare upper chest is seen. Alternate Versions

When Imperfect Harmony (#1.10) was broadcast on the TV2 network in NZ in 2015. The scene which Eliza and Freddy make out on top of Eliza's bed, which Freddy removes his shirt and Eliza removing her shirt, revealing a black bra underneath was cut due to the show's PGR rating. Instead it cut to the adverts, when Eliza and Freddy are seen kissing outside Eliza's bedroom in the Chandelier montage. See more »

Excellent show with a subpar name
26 October 2014 | by zoejiazhengSee all my reviews

As an Asian woman, I am super excited to see an Asian American being the leading actor. I'm in love with this show (and John Cho, he is smoking hot!! <3) that I have seen every single episode three times already, though I strongly agree with some other comments that the title sucks not attractive at all, so minus one star for choosing selfie as the tile. Please do not cancel this show, it is fun, interesting, cute, and it is the very first American romantic show that has a male Asian American playing the leading role. I have a feeling that if this show gets canceled, we will have to wait at least 20 years to see another Asian American actor as the leading role in a romantic comedy. So, please, keep this show alive!!
