In New Orleans, Louisiana, two local special agents of the NCIS, Pride and LaSalle, start to investigate the death of Dan McLane, who was not only a member of the US House of Representatives but also both a retired Naval Reserve commander and a retired agent of the NIS (before the NCIS); Dan had worked with Franks and had served as a mentor to both Pride and Gibbs; King Pride, a former partner of Gibbs, goes to Washington, DC, and spends time with Gibbs. Inter-agency intrigue begins; the FBI seizes control; a joint FBI-NCIS effort proceeds; Fornell joins the hunting party; the Gibbs team start producing results; King and Gibbs use an old-school technique; LaSalle in Nola says that he suddenly feels new respect for the Great Lakes office. An FBI agent in Nola dies in the same way as Dan; King goes back there, and Gibbs and Ellie go with him; Abby provides answers; the bunch in Nola follow the breadcrumbs left for them. (At 00:14) Gibbs, Pride and Fornell sit down to eat "red beans and rice" that Pride has prepared. While the dish is in fact red beans over rice it is not "red beans and rice" as you would have in New Orleans. Something that Pride, being from New Orleans, would obviously know. In New Orleans, the dish known as "red beans and rice" is red beans cooked together with rice and spice slowly throughout the day. Therefore the rice is colored red by the beans and it is a simple, basic (but delicious!) dish that is often served on Mondays in the tradition of Monday being "laundry day" thus allowing the red beans and rice to cook slowly all day while the laundry is being done. Thus the comment from Fornell "It must be Monday". See more »

Anthony DiNozzo: I'm sorry, I didn't understand what you said.
Ellie Bishop: Um, it's physically impossible for me. I tried in college. Can't. Ask my husband.
Anthony DiNozzo: There are a lot of things I want to ask your husband.

Love these episodes 1&2 would think that it would be a great spin off, loved all the characters and the writing of the show was excellent love New Orleans. Loved Lucas Black and Scott Bakula would like to see them again. These two episodes were the best I've seen in a long time love NCIS and everybody on here Mark Harmon is a great actor and director as well, I will always watch NCIS. These are my favorite episode's could watch it over again. All the great actor's on these episodes was amazing, never got bored and Tony's voodoo doll was hilarious. The little boy was to smart and the music was awesome. To see all the older guy's and what they stand for and their way's and that they have your back. Awesome Awesome a 10 is what I give these episodes.
