The REAL reasons are that Florida stopped providing tax credits for filming, which made the cost of filming soar and the other reason is Netflix owns the show with Sony, and they couldn't come to agreements over money. So Netflix just pulled the plug saying s3 would be the last, and be cut 3 episodes shorter- from 13 to just 10.
So imagine the writers trying to figure out a way to end the show in just 10 episodes when clearly there was much more to tell.
So...having said all that- is it worth watching?? I say absolutely. S1 is fantastic and s2 is also great as well. Like many others have mentioned...s3...not so good. I don't think it's fair that some folks are giving the show a 1/10 because of the last season...what about the 2 great seasons before it? Certainly doesn't deserve a 1. BUT all things considered, s3 DOES provide closure. Yes, in the 10 episodes of s3 I'd say 4 or 5 of them were mostly just filler episodes, but the remaining ones weren't nearly as bad as some may lead you to believe. I think it's possible that since the writers had to cut from 13ep down to 10 they probably overly streamlined everything in those 5 good episodes, but since they have to do 10 to fulfill the season they did what they had to do. Just my guess.
If you enjoy shows like Breaking Bad and Ozark definitely check this one out for sure.
