Security guard Richard Jewell is an instant hero after foiling a bomb attack at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, but his life becomes a nightmare when the FBI leaks to the media that he is a suspect in the case.
Based on the true story of Richard Jewell, a security guard who discovered a bomb and saved many lives at a concert at Centennial Olympic Park during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. He was seen as a hero by many and a suspect by the FBI and press.
The movie's source material includes "The Suspect," a book by Kent Alexander, then U.S. attorney for the northern district of Georgia, and Kevin Salwen, an Atlanta-based editor for the Wall Street Journal in the 1990s. Reporter Kathy Scruggs never disclosed the name of her source, but the authors of the book did. According to "The Suspect," lead FBI agent Don Johnson fed the leak to the reporter. In the movie, the lead FBI agent is given the fictitious name Tom Shaw. See more »

You don't talk. I talk. Say it.
I don't talk. But I want those guys to know that I'm law enforcement too, just like them.
See right there, that's talking. That's what we don't want, OK?

I'm not a real fan of slow paced long movies... unless they are made by Mr. Eastwood. He captures every tense moment, facial expression, or still scene, and manages to fill in more about the story he is telling. Casting was perfection! Paul Walter Hauser needs awards for his performance. Kathy Bates and Olivia Wilde were on point, as was Sam Rockwell and Canadian wannabe Jon Hamm - who is awesome in his TV commercials lol! Directing was perfect, cinematography great, score in line, and the writing was good. Very enjoyable film and I recommend it. It's a well deserved 9/10 from me
