Now we can add a few more projects to that list, with Sony reportedly set to showcase two of its own Marvel projects in the live-action Venom spinoff starring Tom Hardy, along with the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie.

Other projects which Sony is reportedly mulling over include Holmes and Watson, Searching, Alpha, Slender Man and Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween.

Danny McBride wanted to shoot two Halloween movies back-to-back

Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield this October some forty years after his original killing spree to face Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode for a final time in the new Halloween movie from director David Gordon Green and co-writer Danny McBride.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly following the release of the first trailer, McBride has revealed that the original plan was to shoot two movies back-to-back, and the prospect of a sequel remains on the table should this movie go down well with audiences.

“We were going to shoot two of them back-to-back… Then we were like, Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This could come out, and everyone could hate us, and we’d never work again. So, let’s not have to sit around for a year while we wait for another movie to come out that we know people aren’t going to like. So,

Jamie Lee Curtis on how Laurie Strode has been preparing for the return of Michael Myers

Last week we got our first look at the new Halloween film, which is set to deliver a direct sequel to the 1978 classic, ignoring subsequent instalments, as Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode finds herself face to face with Michael Myers once again some 40 years after those fateful events in Haddonfield, Illinois.

During an interview with Dread Central, Curtis has been discussing what Laurie Strode has been up to these past forty years, as she prepares herself and her family for the night he came home… again.

“I think for Laurie Strode, society has not been kind to her,” said Curtis. “She lives alone, she has tried to live in society but society has not been welcoming. There were not a lot of mental health professionals helping this young woman, she banged her way into her life, she slammed into people, institutions, law enforcement, and they hate her because she calls the police every day,

Halloween director explains why the new movie ignores all the sequels

We’ve known for some time that David Gordon Green and Danny McBride’s new Halloween movie would be ignoring all but the first instalment of the slasher series, and now that the first trailer for the film has arrived, Green has been explaining to Entertainment Weekly why they decided to disregard everything but John Carpenter’s classic 1978 original.

“We watched all of them and I can actually enjoy all of them,” explained Green. “But there just felt like such a simple truth to the original. I think by the time you add Michael and Laurie’s relationship, being family, or he’s only hunting his family, it takes that ‘Boogeyman’ out of it. I want everyone to be afraid of him. The first one really had that anonymity to who he was. [We are] stripping down the backstory, and philosophy, and motivation, and, you know, themes of cults, and things like that.
