When the UNSC can't track down thier most valued asset (Spartan 117: The Master Chief), they send a highly trained ONI soldier (Agent Locke) to bring him back. Master Chief is in search for something very important and will allow nothing to stand in his way, while Agent Locke has vowed to uphold justice and hunt for the truth. As these two titans fight their way through Forerunner and Covenant forces, the fate of the universe hangs in the balance yet again.

Halo 5: Guardians utilizes a dynamic resolution in order to maintain a locked 60fps refresh rate. What this means is that instead of dropping frames when the game is stressed it will drop the resolution instead. So at any given moment the game's resolution can range from a full 1920x1080p to as low 1152x810p in order to maintain a locked 60fps that doesn't drop a frame delivering fast paced and responsive gameplay. When questioned why Halsey's arm is missing, Locke says Jul 'Mdama was responsible, when it was actually Commander Palmer who shot it off. While Commander Palmer shot Halsey in the arm during the events of Halo 4's Spartan Ops, the arm was amputated due to the Sangheili's limited understanding of Human anatomy/medical care, while still a captive of Jul 'Mdama between the events of Spartan Ops and Halo 5:Guardians.
