Garrett Moore: I didn't give you a look.

Copious files pay off
2 February 2017 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

Although part of this episode deals with Tom Selleck understandably not being willing to talk openly about the NYPD's intelligence program regarding terrorists, the bulk of the episode is regarding an abduction of a young girl from a school. It brings back bad memories for Donnie Wahlberg of a case from seven years earlier that he could not close.

Bridget Moynahan is on a murder case where the defense is pleading insanity. The defense attorney here is real life defense attorney Bruce Cutler. Cutler skewers the DA's expert witness Greg Germann as an expert who's quite full of himself and Moynahan has to work out of boundaries to see justice done.

Wahlberg and Marissa Ramirez take up most of the episode and the case has occurred at the same school from seven years earlier. Patrick Breen steals the episode as the father who never gave up hope and he's kept copious files on his daughter's disappearance. Turns out they pay off.

Breen and Germann really steal this story from the regulars.
