Trivia

The game's intro (styled after the one from Mad Max 2: Road Warrior) that explains how Max's hellish world came to be is narrated by Aussie actor Nick Tate, probably best known as trailer narrator for several Hollywood blockbusters in the 1990s including the original trailer for the first Jurassic Park film and one of the trailers for the original Jumanji movie. He also starred as himself in the self-deprecating parody short called "5 Guys in a Limo" that celebrates the most famous trailer narrators of the era including Don LaFontaine and Hal Douglas. Goofs

The buses shown in the game have doors on the right side, for right-hand traffic. Traffic in Australia is on the left-hand side; the game's other vehicles correctly reflect this. See more »

[slaps helper to wake]
Max Rockatansky: I wanna join the races.
Gastown Outcrier: [Pointing to slate] You see that slate? You put your mark on it. Then I'll put you in the Murder Dome!
Gastown Outcrier: [Whispering to Max] You work the blood-and-guts circuit for a couple of years... Survive it, make champion. Then maybe, I can start grooming you for a shot at the races.
Max Rockatansky: [Pins Outcrier against slate] No time, jawbone. I need to join the races now.

MEDIOCRE!
17 July 2018 | by spiff-12See all my reviews

What's his motivation? He wants a big engine for his car. Apparently all full sized pick-ups fell into a black hole or something. Weak. The story is awful. The game is massively grindy, the bases are confusing and the bosses aren't all that hard. What is the point of having most of the better 'Archangels' right at the end of the game!? If I'm a stone's throw away from the end, why would I grind 'Pink Eye' rep down to zero and spend 16 thousand scrap to build a few template cars that I would only really ever use in a handful of races!? It's pointless. Though there can be all different modifications of the same car, there really only is one version that truly makes sense going into the late game. What else? The driving is janky and tends to over or under steer. Good points? The world is large. None of that 'Rage' limited driving. The voice acting is pretty good. Combat is flashy and fun until it gets tired and you've seen everything Max can do. I enjoyed the enigmatic 'Griffa' encounters.
