Leslie (Tony Award Winner ALICE RIPLEY), a housewife and 50-plus piano teacher, decides to follow her life-long dream of being a rock 'n roll singer much to the chagrin of her husband (SAG Award Winner ROBERT CLOHESSY), who is running for political office and her daughter (LEAH BARKER) who is about to embark for college.
I was on the PLUTO channel looking for something to watch on their "Documentaries" section and "Sugar!" (the fiction feature) popped up instead of the docu "Sugar Sisters" tho listed under the latter's title. "Sugar!" is NOT a documentary but this lucky mistake of the universe did provide me with some middle-aged lady issues and MUSIC!! Despite the shortcomings of the plot, the music (lead by Broadway Tony-winner Alice Ripley) was great. So if you ask me if you should watch this, well, if you're over 40, then I say: "I do." #Aliceisawesome
